I think the digitization of education that was expedited during the pandemic partly killed my passion for learning. There's something less engaging and satisfying about completing assignments on the computer and I find myself rushing through online work just to get it done faster. Not to mention reading on the computer is nearly impossible with all the distractions of technology. Not sure what the solution is because obviously with the growing use of technology it's important to adapt but I also don't think what we're doing now is working

Problems & Solutions
At Not a Mockumentary, we believe that classroom and academic issues have solutions waiting to be found.
We're the folks who will find them, not people who read policy and quote theory.
Our platform is designed to provide a space for teachers and students to discuss their challenges and work together to strengthen education.
We can't fix anything without first identifying a problem, so start a conversation below

I completely agree! I love the old pen-and-paper assignments. Online doesn't allow for much creativity.
I agree. It's hypocritical that we want people off their devices yet insist on using platforms like Canvas and Blackboard to run classes. Studies continue to show that people who complete their work by writing it retain the information better than those who process through devices. Not to mention the frustration of servers going down and, like you say, people dealing with the constant tempatation of clicking on a different tab to take a quick break from something they find difficult or boring. So to add to the lower engagement and satisfaction, we're all losing the stamina we need to work through challenges. Further, we're also conditioning ourselves to demand the instant gratification we dislike seeing in others.
I would love to see instructional stragetgy slow down and back up ten years.
